Episode 135 : Endings

This episode marks three years of Zen is Stupid, and that seems like as good a place as any to have our curtain call.  Everything must end!

We’ll keep the episodes up here as a bumbling testimony to the power of friendship and zen.

(And if you want to give us a little bump in funding for our project to inscribe every episode on brass plates and shoot it into space for aliens to find in the distant future, hit that donate button!)

Thanks for the good times.  Leave a parting comment below!

I’m neither zen nor buddhist, but I’ve found out quite a bit about it through this ‘cast. Apparently, the best way to advertise Zen is to not really talk about it. Thanks!

Thank you for zenisstupid. I’ve only just discovered it and I find it to be a bit of inspiration mixed with a bit of comedy. I’m really glad that you guys will be doing another pod cast. Thanks and Be Blessed!

Gwen and Patrick, it was a good run! I listened to about 90% of your episodes (starting in the summer of 2009, so I did a lot of catch-up at first). I want to thank you for helping make (zen) buddhism a regular thing to me and not just some esoteric stuff in a D.T. Suzuki book. Best of luck to both of you.

It bothers me when people take certain things too seriously, especially religion. I’m not even that serious about buddhism, I’ll occasionally call myself a buddhist but really I’m more of an agnostic that follows many philosophies from buddhism, mostly zen buddhism.
I have enjoyed your show, it’s nice listening to people I agree with. Almost everybody in my life disagrees with me on so many issues, it gets a little frustrating. I never really cared for the name zen is stupid because I don’t think it is stupid. Looking forward to Mindfulist!

Thanks so much Patrick and Gwen! This has been one podcast I never missed, and I’ll miss looking forward to it every week. Your conversations have never been boring and frequently thought-provoking and insightful.

    Cheers, and good luck!

as one of the 14 surviving listeners, i wanna say THANKS… this podcast really connected to me, and gave me brain food and a realistic perspective on (as you put it) issues that are relevant to me, instead of hush tone dharma talks (which yes, also have their place).

looking forward to the evolution of your efforts. and besides, i gotta have something to listen to the in plane. plastic buddha on the dash does a good job of minding the autopilot for me ;-)

I now have to download the back catalogue to get my Zen is Stupid fix. Looking forward to The Mindfulist though! This comment is so delayed from when the podcast was uploaded because I was saving up the last one and not saying goodbye to it just yet. Not excellent non-attachment there I know. =P Just to let you guys know, I really enjoy your ramblings and wish you well with your new project.

    Patrick,
I’m high again, and I think you should definitely consider it. I think weed is “the mindfulness drug.” I have got to tell you all it is doing is making me very mindful of what is occurring.

Ah weed, where would we be without your comments!

Isn’t there something to be said for engaging in hardcore mindfulness without the aid of psychotropics?
